Wait 5 - 10 minutes. Use the scraper to get off anything on the old wood. Always wipe off with an old rag after each scrape. Use (#180 grit) sandpaper to get rid of old stains or bumps on the wood. Apply stain until you achieve the desired color. Allow overnight drying of the stain before applying sanding sealer.
