Bronco Tile Cement Etch

The Bronco Tile Cement Etch is a specially formulated fast-acting acid that removes oxides and other impurities. It is used as an alternative method for machine sanding that will etch the surface of most tiles and cement surfaces. It eradicates the glossy surface to allow certain paints and sealants to adhere to the substrate. It also prepares tiles and cement surfaces for the application of new tiles. It can also be diluted to act as a fast-acting cleaner, fungus, and mold remover. ETCHING IS PERMANENT!

Surface Preparation:

• Make sure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, and grease.
• Remove any fungus, excess residue, or cement droppings.
• Surface must leave with no evidence of segregation.
• Test in a small, unnoticeable area to see if the result is the desired effect.

Application:

1. Mask off areas that you do not want to etch. Etching is permanent and irreversible!
2. Use protective gloves, glasses, and equipment.
3. Avoid contact with skin and clothing.
4. Open lid, remove safety cap, and pour contents into a small plastic container.
   Use a small brush to apply to the substrate.
5. Dip the brush into the container and spread onto the tile in a long, smooth stroke.
6. Cover the whole area of 1 tile before moving to the next tile. This is to ensure that etching is done evenly. The application should be wet but not pooling.
7. Let Tile Etch remain for 3 to 5 minutes.
8. Remove immediately by wiping with a very wet rag or by hosing off with water.
9. Check if the surface is etched evenly and dullness of the surface is even.
10. Repeat the procedure if etching is not sufficient. Etching strength will vary depending on substrate density and material.

Coverage:

• A 500 ml can treat 4 to 6 square meters, depending on the type of substrate and porosity.
• A 1000 ml can treat 8 to 10 square meters, depending on the type of substrate and porosity.
